Meetings
Orange-Chatham
Group Meetings:
Our meetings are now available by
podcast! To listen, subscribe to the H2O podcast.
The
Orange-Chatham Group meets once a month for a short talk, followed
by discussion and refreshments. Visitors are
always welcome! Our meetings are informal, and topics
range from current environmental issues, to tales of travel to faraway
places, to locally relevant political issues. We typically meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00
p.m., but
alternative locations will be noted on the homepage and in the
newsletter. Meetings are not usually held in June, July, or August. See our current meetings
listings on our homepage.

Political
Committee:
Political
aficionados! Each election season, the Orange-Chatham Group’s
political committee reviews candidates for local offices and recommends endorsements to the
state chapter. We Sierrans have a wonderful
opportunity to influence the local elections and to help elect local
people who have an environmental bent, but to do so requires that our
political committee be sufficiently large so that the committee's
endorsements are not looked upon as just being
those candidates who are favored by a few. If you
are a Sierra Club member with an interest in local elections and want
to get involved in the political committee, contact our political
chair, Jason Baker.
Executive
Committee:
This
is the group
that decides the Orange Chatham group's priority
issues, votes to approve positions on issues, and oversees group
operations. Members are elected to two-year terms by a mail/online vote
of Orange-Chatham group members. We meet the second Monday of every
month at 7:00. Locations vary; check homepage or newsletter for current
location, or contact one of our group co-chairs.
