These resources are the key to understanding and analyzing TOC response to environmental issues. Town of Cary Website The Cary Town Council typically meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. The agenda is placed on the Web the Friday before the meeting, and minutes of the previous meeting are also available then. The action agenda, an abbreviated form of the minutes, is placed online the day after the meeting. Minutes are official after the council approves them. The council has two ongoing committees of three members each. The Operations Committee handles financial, human resources and public safety issues. Current members include: council member Jack Smith, chair, and council member Gale Adcock and mayor pro tem Julie Robison. The Planning and Development Committee handles planning and development related issues. Current members include council member Ervin Portman, chair, and council member Jennifer Robinson and council member Don Frantz. Both committees make recommendations that are referred to the full Town Council for final council action. Check the calendar for meeting dates. You can get more involved in Cary Government by volunteering to serve on a Board or Commission. Relevant environmental Boards and Committees There is also an annual School of Government course to introduce citizens to Town government. It runs 8 sessions Sept. - Oct. The deadline is July 31. |
