MEMBERSHIP MEETING AT RIVER WATCH

Where:  River Watch Center, 617 Surry Street, Wilmington NC
Please join us at our our July meeting. Come to the River Watch building at 617 Surry Street at 6pm for pizza and help in writing your comments on what data Titan needs to collect.  Are you concerned about air pollution, toxins, destruction of wetlands, damage to the Castle Hayne aquifer?  We will have the information you need to write directly to the permitting agencies.      If you need directions or more information, call Janice Wilson at 910-313-0498 or jncwils@aol.com

Sierra Club Lobby Day Tuesday, June 24, 2008 2007 Lobby Day Volunteers

Please join us Tuesday, June 24 for Sierra Club Lobby Day. You will be able to discuss key conservation issues with lawmakers, and in addition, become more knowledgable about who's representing your district.

Whether you're an expert or novice, we'll provide everything you need to make your day efficient, successful, and rewarding. Before heading off to the legislature, you'll receive a policy briefing. Our chapter lobbyist will discuss the legislative goals of the chapter as well as the nuance of current bills before the General Assembly.

After you're finished lobbying for the day, join us for lunch and a debriefing. To register, call 919. 833.8467. Or, email info@sierraclub-nc.org. We hope to see you here at the Capital.

LOBBY FOR OUR WATERS ON JUNE 4, 2008

NCCF is asking its members and allies to travel to Raleigh on June 4th for Clean Water Lobby Day and the unveiling of our 2008 State of the Coast Report.
The General Assembly will make several key coastal decisions this year, including whether our coastal beaches will remain public and natural and our coastal waters protected from polluted run-off.We will leave from Wilmington via commercial bus the morning of Wednesday June 4th. Mike Giles, the Cape Fear Coastkeeper, will be coordinating the trip from Wilmington.

Contact Mike at (910)790-3275 or at capefearcoastkeeper@nccoast.org. In Raleigh the NCCF staff will coordinate meetings with key legislative staff for citizens to voice their support for the new Coastal Stormwater Rule. Lunch will be provided on the plaza at the legislative building.

Tickets (Includes Lunch): $15 for members: $20 for non-members.
