About Us

The Sierra Club's North Carolina Chapter was formed in 1970. It currently has 19,000 members and 13 local groups across the state.

The Chapter's statewide office is located in downtown Raleigh and a regional office is located in Charlotte.

The NC Chapter of Sierra Club has worked to pass groundbreaking environmental legislation from the local to national levels.  Our issues range from putting an end to hog waste pollution to protecting the integrity of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
